You’ll Never Guess The Origin Of Some Of The Most Common Used Inventions
Germany – The Coffee Filter
In 1908, a frustrated housewife made an amazing invention in her Dresden Kitchen that has saved coffee lovers from exasperation since. Melitta Bentz, who had a great taste in coffee, couldn’t stand seeing its grounds in her cup. The chore of having to remove the dregs that stuck on the coffee pot while cleaning also didn’t sit well with her.
Bentz, therefore, tried countless ways of getting rid of the messy annoyance without any success. Then one day, she took a tin can, punched holes on its bottom, then placed it inside a blotting paper from her son’s school notebook, and voila! The coffee filter was born.
