The term “ugg boots” has its roots in Australia and initially referred to utilitarian footwear worn mainly by surfers in the sixties to keep warm. Modern usage refers to a gender-neutral sheepskin boot type with a tanned outer surface, fleece on the inside, and a synthetic sole.
