You’ll Never Guess The Origin Of Some Of The Most Common Used Inventions

Netherlands – Speed Enforcement Camera

Although receiving a speeding ticket may not be one of our favorite hobbies, it’s nice to pause and recognize the brains behind the technology that made it possible. A speed enforcement camera, usually mounted over or beside a road, helps detect motoring offenses like vehicles ignoring red traffic lights, going through toll booths without paying, and so on.

Dutch rally driver Maurice Gatsonides is to thank for this invention after his company, Gatsometer BV, created this device to better monitor his race track movements. They would later find a loyal customer in police departments, and the rest, as they say, is history.
