You’ll Never Guess The Origin Of Some Of The Most Common Used Inventions
Japan – High Fructose Corn Syrup
If you love drinking sodas and sweetened beverages, it’s time to understand where all that revitalizing sweet taste originates. High fructose corn syrup (HFCS), also known as isoglucose or glucose-fructose, is the ingredient responsible for the delicious touch, and you will be surprised where it got invented.
A Japanese researcher Yoshiyuki Takasaki from the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), is credited for developing a xylose isomerase enzyme that was heat-stable from yeast. This discovery enabled the Clinton Corn Processing Company to start manufacturing and shipping HFCS in 1967.
