Wonders of the Modern World: Jaw-Dropping Infrastructures That Leave You in Awe

The Storseisundet Bridge

One of eight overpasses connecting Norway’s mainland to the Atlantic Road, the Storseisundet, also known as the Drunk Bridge, is a mesmerizing piece of architecture. Its design gives the optical illusion that it is almost floating in the air, and from certain angles, it appears to be rising out of the sea.

During the six-year construction process of this 850-foot-long bridge, there were water-related issues. But it has since become a popular spot for tourists, especially during stormy weather when the waves crash against the bridge, creating a dramatic and awe-inspiring sight. Despite its seemingly precarious appearance, the road is safe and has improved connectivity for locals and visitors alike.
