The Blue Dragon and 39 Other Bizarre Creatures That Will Blow Your Mind

Aye-Aye

For what is considered the world’s largest nocturnal primate, the Aye-aye sure looks like the stuff of nightmares. It is a lemur endemic to the Island of Madagascar. And at about nine inches long, its tail has the longest hair of any prosimian‒animals like the tarsier & bush baby.

This primate has large hands and long narrow fingers. It also has a specialized finger that it uses for grooming. Their giant ears are also highly sensitive and lined with complex ridges that help them focus sounds during foraging. And though they’re relatively harmless, many regard the aye-aye as a bad omen.
