The Blue Dragon and 39 Other Bizarre Creatures That Will Blow Your Mind
Tarsier
Tarsiers are small primates native to the islands of Southeast Asia. They have large immovable eyes, and each eyeball measures about 16 millimeters and weighs as much as its brain. So to compensate for their inability to move their eyes, these tree-climbers have specially adapted vertebrae offering the same 180-degree range of movement that owls possess.
These primates have soft velvety fur that ranges in color from grey to ochre and beige. Their long hind limbs are also highly specialized, allowing them to leap over five meters in the air. As a flesh-eating species, their diet consists of insects, birds, lizards, and snakes.
