The Blue Dragon and 39 Other Bizarre Creatures That Will Blow Your Mind
Pink Fairy Armadillo
The pink fairy armadillo is a native of central Argentina. And although it looks large, it is the smallest armadillo species in the world and can only grow about six inches long. It also has a soft, thin, and flexible shell that covers half its body.
This ground-dweller is sensitive to even slight changes in its habitat. So it prefers to spend most of its time burrowing underground. And as it remains elusive, very little is known about its biology and mating habits. But we do know that the beautiful pink color of its shell comes from the blood vessels lying close to the surface.
