30 Secrets that the Royal Family didn’t want you to know

You Don’t Look A Gift Horse In The Mouth

Members of the royal family may or may not accept gifts from the public, but careful consideration is mandatory. According to these principles, no member of the royal family is allowed to accept a gift, a service, or even hospitality that would put him or her under obligation to the donor.

Gifts from businesses are to be declined unless offered as souvenirs. The same goes for private individuals not known personally to the royal family member. However, since they get many gifts anyway, they are considered owned by the whole country and managed accordingly. A royal family member can also accept any donation to a charity they represent if the check is addressed properly.
