30 Secrets that the Royal Family didn’t want you to know

What Are The Royal Duchies?
The royal family members have their own sources of income. Their funding comes mostly from their private estate – the Dutchy of Lancaster. It is a portfolio of estates and lands that serve for the sole purpose of providing the Sovereign with an independent income. The current sovereign is the Duke of Lancaster in this respect, and it is currently, of course, Queen Elizabeth II.
The dutchy is comprised of some 45,550 acres of the total holdings in land, serving as agricultural, residential, commercial, and other purposes. The other one of the two royal duchies is the Duchy of Cornwall. It serves the same purpose for the Duke of Cornwall, currently Prince Charles.
