The Queen Signs Her Christmas Cards Depending On The Receiver
Although the queen and her husband Prince Philip usually send out about 800 Christmas cards, they still manage to add a little personal touch to them. Her Majesty, who begins working on her holiday greetings in the summer, signs with her nickname Lilibet for the ones she sends to her cousins.
Heads of state could expect seeing the more formal “Elizabeth R” written on their cards. The R stands for the Latin word Regina, which means queen. This isn’t the only Christmas tradition the royal family observes, though, as you’ll soon find out.
