Ever Wondered How Life Was Back in the Day? These Vintage Images Show How Drastically the World Has Changed
The Sphinx Emerges
There are only a few images as iconic as Egypt’s Great Sphinx, considered one of the biggest and most fascinating statues in the world. It continues to gain traction and still piques the curiosity of archaeologists because of the mystique of this sculpture. For years, only the head was uncovered, and it took a while before explorers were able to dig the sand from the shoulders.
Some predicted that the Sphinx was intended to have a body that would act as a temple but was never fully finished. Experts estimate the limestone monument to date back from 2,500 BC.
