Christian Bale has built a reputation as an acting chameleon. The American Psycho star can just play any role and fit each one’s physical description just fine. You’ve seen him all bulked up as Batman and scarily emaciated in The Machinist and The Fighter. On the other end of the spectrum is his 200-pound physique in American Hustle as artist Irving Rosenfeld.
To tip the scales, he did the opposite of what Jake Gyllenhaal did. Bale’s diet consisted of two months of eating cheeseburgers and doughnuts. Of course, the costume department completed his look with a ‘70s wardrobe, making him even more unrecognizable.
