ACTORS WHO LOOK DIFFERENT IN REAL LIFE

Jake Gyllenhaal As Billy Hope

Jake Gyllenhaal is already a handsome man as he is. But handsome is not what a boxer makes. Already experiencing his fair share of demanding roles in films like Brokeback Mountain and Nightcrawler, he set out to gain a whopping 15 pounds of pure muscle to be more convincing as professional boxer Billy Hope in 2015’s Southpaw.

So, how did he do it? As the movie’s director Antoine Fuqua reveals, it’s all about exercise. That means Gyllenhaal was working out six hours a day for half a year. He did everything from 2,000 daily sit-ups to running eight miles, and, of course, boxing training.
