While the boy had an eye for the art and what made it valuable, he still needed to learn how to appraise and evaluate it correctly. This was often difficult, especially for a child who doesn’t yet understand the true value of money.

But it was nothing he couldn’t eventually learn, and that was what David Weiss was going to show him with this piece. But as if to test him, the appraiser quizzed him again, asking him what he thought the painting would sell for on auction. As expected, the boy heavily undercut himself.
