You’ll Never Guess The Origin Of Some Of The Most Common Used Inventions
Poland – Kerosene Lamp
What did humans do before electricity got discovered? We know there were candles, but they either burned wax or oils derived from the tissues of whales. Evidently, these weren’t feasible resources or long-term solutions, which changed when Polish researcher Ignacy Łukasiewicz came into the picture. He found an alternative in 1853 that we now know as kerosene lamps. This significant invention felt like the need of the hour back then!
At the time, these lanterns were a bit expensive for ordinary people and had a complex mechanism. But it was still a successful experiment that produced more light per unit, which is why kerosene lamps have never gone off the market since their invention!
