Wonders of the Modern World: Jaw-Dropping Infrastructures That Leave You in Awe

Habitat 67 Housing Complex

There is an iconic housing complex in Montréal, Canada, called Habitat 67, designed by Israeli-Canadian architect Moshe Safdie. Built as a pavilion for the 1967 World Exposition, it was later converted into a residential complex. The building comprises 354 identical prefabricated concrete units arranged in various configurations to form 146 residences of varying sizes.

The units are connected by pedestrian walkways and landscaped terraces, creating a complex and visually stunning structure. Habitat 67’s unique design has earned it a place in architectural history, with many considering it a landmark of modernist architecture. The complex has also been featured in several films and TV shows, adding to its cultural significance.
