Wonders of the Modern World: Jaw-Dropping Infrastructures That Leave You in Awe
Circular Settlements
Brøndby Haveby, on the outskirts of Copenhagen, is a unique sight, with circular greenery surrounding clusters of tiny houses. Created in the ’60s, the town’s structure was designed to promote a sense of community and is based on the layout of traditional Scandinavian villages.
Landscape architect Erik Mygind devised the circular design. The houses are rented by city-dwellers who want to experience country life from April to October, but there are a few strict rules governing their use. Many of the houses serve as storage facilities or sheds, making the Garden City a fascinating and distinctive space for visitors to explore.
