Amid The Chaos, NYC – 1985
Photographer Richard Sandler wandered and photographed the streets of New York City from the late ’70s to the early ’00s. His subjects seem vacant and absorbed, away from the graffiti-laden subway. This energy is encapsulated in Sandler’s favorite photo, CC Train, 1985, the cover of his book titled The Eyes of the City. It’s the same phot you see above.
During those times, Sandler, who worked as a photojournalist, was always capturing pictures. He would bring five rolls of film, ride the subway, go out into the streets, and just start shooting photo after photo, as he shared with Business Insider.
