Unflattering And Intense Nature Photos Guaranteed To Give You The Chills

A Hostile Takeover by Bees

Imagine the surprise of finding a swarm of bees under your cherished bicycle seat! What causes such a phenomenon? This occurs when the queen bee, accompanied by many worker bees, abandons the colony to establish a new one. Bees are small insects that are crucial in pollinating flowers and plants, providing us with food and oxygen.

During the establishment of a new colony, about 60% of the worker bees depart from their previous settlement and follow the queen. This natural reproduction process for new colonies is called swarming. Swarms vary in size, from a few hundred to tens of thousands of bees, and are most prevalent during late spring.
