He is also known as Mickey Snatch, and he has a chronic skin condition called vitiligo since he was around twelve. It causes discoloration due to the skin losing its melanocytes, or pigment cells. This happens randomly throughout the body, so people develop patches of differently colored skin.
Vitiligo is rare. According to official data, less than 1% of the world’s population has some form of it. Vernon became an inspiration to many when he embraced his unique look and used it to promote diversity, as he says, to any and all because we are all different.
