The Fate of TV Shows: Is Your Favorite Getting Canceled?

High Maintenance

September 2016: HBO premieres a new comedy series about a cannabis deliveryman. Two months later, the use, sale, and plantation of recreational cannabis became legal in California. Several American states followed, and the psychoactive herb is now legal in more than 20 states.

Coincidence or not, it felt like “High Maintenance” was a show as popular as its main topic for a while. The good times lasted four seasons, but the final puff came in April 2020, when the show aired its last episode. The good news is that the “High Maintenance” creators, Ben Sinclair and Katja Blichfeld, are working on new projects.
