The Quiet Life of Some of the Greatest NFL Players
John Brodie, 87, San Francisco 49ers
In 1989, John Brodie was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, becoming the first San Francisco 49ers player to receive the honor. Despite being known as one of the most iconic figures in San Francisco sports, the 1970 NFL Most Valuable Player is also remembered for his exceptional golf career.
In addition to his work as an NFL quarterback and accomplished golfer, Brodie is a generous philanthropist who’s made numerous donations to his alma mater, Stanford University. He won one and had 12 top-ten finishes on the Senior PGA Tour before serving as an NBC Sports golf and football analyst later on.
