The Quiet Life of Some of the Greatest NFL Players
Jan Stenerud, 80, Kansas City Chiefs
Jan Stenerud, who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1991, was one of the few NFL players of the golden age to be considered a journeyman, having played for three different teams during his 19-year career. He’s the first Norwegian to play in the NFL and was a placekicker primarily with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Four Pro Bowl appearances and four First-Team All-Pro selections secured Stenerud’s place in the Hall of Fame. The former Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings player works at HNTB Corp., an engineering and architectural firm, while also representing the Chiefs at local fundraisers and charity events.
