30 Secrets that the Royal Family didn’t want you to know

Does The Queen Own All Of The Swans In The UK?

Technically, all of the unmarked mute swans that reside in the UK are owned by the Queen, i.e. the British monarchy. But, the Queen actually only exercises her ownership rights on some stretches of the River Thames, mainly around Windsor. In 2017, a five-year-old girl named Lindsay Simpson, who hails from Petersfield, England, actually asked the queen about it and if she could give her one. The queen said that she doesn’t own them all, but she does own quite a lot and reportedly gave one to the girl.
