30 Secrets that the Royal Family didn’t want you to know

Quoth The Tower Ravens “Nevermore”
There are currently seven Tower Ravens in the Tower of London. Their presence there dates to King Charles II’s time. Despite usually being considered a bad omen, it was Charles II who decreed that at least six ravens should always be present at the Tower.
According to legend, John Flamsteed, the first Astronomer Royal, complained to the king that the birds were interfering with his work. The king initially gave the order to banish the birds, but it was prophesized that the White Tower would fall and the kingdom would face disaster if they are removed. It was then that he decreed that at least six should be living there at all times.
