Prince Charles Broke The Family’s Labor Tradition

When Elizabeth II was giving birth to Prince Charles, her husband, Prince Philip, was playing squash. It was apparently the tradition for gentlemen of the family not to be present at labor. However, since then, it has been broken by none other than Prince Charles. Charles was the first in the male line to be present at birth when his boys William and Harry came into this world.

Since then, he has started a different tradition. Now, all the gentlemen of the family need to be present. After William’s birth, Charles said that he felt he truly did share the process of birth with his wife deeply and that the experience enriched him.
