A Blast From The Past
Another thing that surprised the staff of the Caracas airport tower was how old the aircraft was. It still operated using propellers instead of the turbines that the modern aircraft at the time had. What they didn’t realize then, though, was that the mysterious plane was a blast from the past in more ways than one.
After a few moments, the tower received a message from the pilot of the incoming plane. Speaking in English, he asked, “Where are we?”. Taking over the situation, de la Corte answered his query and informed him that he was approaching the Caracas airport in Venezuela. He then asked where the plane was headed.
