Will The Real Juan De La Corte Please Stand Up?
Another glaring discrepancy between the story’s published versions is the identity of de la Corte. As AFP pointed out, Weekly World News used photos of two different men to identify the air traffic controller who witnessed Flight 914’s alleged landing.
As the only named eyewitness to the event, his statement could’ve confirmed once and for all whether the story was real. So, unless the real Juan de la Corte stands up or any leaked photos of the plane in Caracas emerge, people would be justified to believe AFP over Weekly World News.
