Ever Wondered How Life Was Back in the Day? These Vintage Images Show How Drastically the World Has Changed

Young Nurse, At Your Service

One of the most enduringly popular photos from the Warsaw Uprising was that of this little girl named Róża Maria Goździewska, who was just eight when this image was taken. While most kids her age stayed in their houses, this little lady, dubbed the youngest nurse during that revolution, chose to remain on the front lines to serve.

Because of her infectious smile, it didn’t come as a surprise that she became a poster child of optimism at the time. On top of this, she and her sister Zofia managed to survive the fight and lived in Silesia. As per reports, Róża migrated to France and got married there, too.
