Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper English wedding if the bride didn’t follow the timeless tradition of carrying something old, new, borrowed, and blue. The iconic wedding dress was Kate’s something old as it featured traditional Irish lace-making techniques. She also wore the newly bought diamond earrings her parents gifted her.
Something borrowed was, of course, the tiara that the Queen loaned her. But for something blue, Kate chose to honor the memory of the late Princes Diana by sewing a blue ribbon onto her dress. After all, Princess Diana had also sewn a blue ribbon onto her gown during her wedding to Prince Charles in 1981.
