Jeremy Edwards – Kurt Benson, Hollyoaks
Soap operas don’t always cater to earlier generations; look at Hollyoaks, the Channel 4 youth-oriented drama that debuted in 1995. One of its original cast members was Jeremy Edwards, who portrayed Kurt Benson until 1999. His character was written to have met a jet-ski accident, leaving fans assuming he was dead.
Edwards shocked his fans when he reprised his role in 2020, but his decision to never again grace the set of Hollyoaks was even more surprising. In a January 2021 interview, the 50-year-old revealed that he wouldn’t be coming back because he wanted to focus on his family and that trolls’ comments on his appearance affected him.
