Willem Dafoe As Vincent van Gogh In At Eternity’s Gate
Willem Dafoe is one of Hollywood’s most prolific character actors. He has been nominated for an Academy Award on four different occasions. One of this was for his role as Vincent van Gogh on At Eternity’s Gate. The 2018 movie focused on van Gogh’s final years, including his stay in a psychiatric hospital, and it put forward an interesting theory.
Despite the idea that van Gogh’s death was due to suicide, it had been speculated that it might have been the result of an accident. This was shown in the film, which was met with critical acclaim. Dafoe’s newest project The Lighthouse premiered in Cannes in May 2019. It also starred Robert Pattinson.
