Picturing the scenes from World War II might scare us because of all the gory stories we’ve heard. But what if there was a way to catch an actual glimpse of that time? This picture of the planes on which armed forces traveled through the war can give you a peek into the magnitude of things.
Often termed as the “retirement home” for army aircraft, The Davis-Monthan Air Force Base is 95 years old and currently houses 4,400 aircraft that were used during the war. Seems strangely funny that the machines that caused plenty of people to (not) rest in peace, lie peacefully in this American boneyard.
