Mary Chieffo As L’Rell
Mary Chieffo is the actress who brought the Klingon (warrior race of aliens) L’Rell character alive on the legendary Star Trek television series. Playing this character was no easy task as it required months of preparation. The Prosthetic Supervisor James MacKinnon usually works on Chieffo’s makeup, which includes three facial prosthetic pieces that were made out of silicone.
It took a team of four to five artists working several hours to achieve the final look. L’Rell’s character received unforeseen attention because of the role characteristics, and even more for the controversial makeup job. The 28-year-old will play Ensign Iago in Operation Othello soon.
