Gaining fame as a child actress in the TV show Blossom, Mayim Bialik actually left the industry to pursue her studies, eventually qualifying as a Neuroscientist. But neuroscience couldn’t keep her away from the acting game, and she returned to the screen as Amy Farah Fowler in The Big Bang Theory.
A boon for the show was that the character was a neurobiologist, meaning Bialik had no problem dealing with the role’s scientific terms. But what was even better was that she made the role so much her own that you actually thought she was exactly like Amy Farrah Fowler with her frumpy dress sense and nerdy personality.
