A Photographer Stepped Into a Neglected Home to Show Us a Unique Piece of American History
A Little Bit of History
Named after its most iconic former resident, the desolate home that Bryan Sansivero dared to photograph is known as the Marion Carll Farmhouse. Even though the farmstead was already there by 1701, the house itself wasn’t built until the late 1800s, with construction starting in 1860, one year before the outbreak of the American Civil War.
It’s located in Suffolk County, New York, and has somehow remained pretty much intact until today. With his photographic work, Sansivero hopes he will inspire others to restore this historically significant site. But what stories does this peculiar farmhouse hide inside?
