A Photographer Stepped Into a Neglected Home to Show Us a Unique Piece of American History

Most Antiques Are Gone By Now

This close-up photo of an old, inoperative clock seems to sum up the beauty of Bryan Sansivero’s work. He explores the images of a lost time that have resisted until today. And in his Marion Carll Farmhouse project, Sansivero was lucky enough to capture all of these beautiful antiques before they were removed.

Today, the farmhouse has been emptied of most of its belongings and remains under close surveillance. The antiques were most likely put in a storage room away from the farmhouse. Sansivero’s work is, for that reason, the last remaining piece of evidence of what Carll’s life was like.
