1994: Former adult magazine superstar Anna Nicole Smith, aged 26, marries the 89-year-old oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II. This picture taken from Houston’s White Dove Wedding Chapel was supposed to show happiness, yet there seems to be a certain sadness that we now see as a grim foreshadowing.
In 1995, Marshall passed away, and Smith spent years fighting for a share of his estate. Years later, in 2006, Smith’s 20-year-old son Daniel died due to an accidental overdose. The mishap caused Smith to enter a depressive state that led to her own tragic death in 2007, also caused by drug overdose.
