Youngster Art Collector Acquires Painting At Cheap Auction, Later Finds Out Its Real Worth

Over-qualified!

Weiss’s qualifications go beyond appraising as well. He actually majored in Political Science with an Art History minor, meaning he could literally run for Senate or governor of Washington D.C., where he lives. Besides being the Senior Vice President at Freeman’s, representing the Washington area, Weiss is also an auctioneer and a private evaluator.

He is a professor at Drexel University, where he runs a course on the Business of Art. He has also been a guest lecturer at the Textile Museum, which forms part of George Washington University Museum, giving lectures about Oriental rugs.
