Stephen Padlo explained to Weiss that after he purchased the painting, he observed that it looked like a watercolor. However, he wasn’t 100% sure due to the UV glass. He did, however, understand that it would have some value if it were a watercolor painting.
But if he were to find the true value of the art, he would have to be more sure about what was used to create the painting. Luckily for him, Weiss had a keen eye for these things and gave him the answers he needed to get the best value out of his eventual sale.
