It was a pretty hot day, and he had to convince his father to take him to the auction down in South Jersey. He did, and they ended up spending some time checking out the items that would be auctioned off on the day.
This was when he came across the painting, which appealed to him. The heat was beginning to get unbearable, and his dad wanted to leave. Still, he persuaded the adult to stay for another hour. The painting came up for auction within an hour or so, and $2 later, he walked off with a pretty valuable piece of art.
