Despite all of his titles, what gets Weiss most excited is doing appraisals and auctions. He loves doing it because of all the discoveries he makes while appraising private collectors and estates. This is probably why he enjoys working on Antiques Roadshow.
Despite not getting paid for his appearances, Weiss gets to experience those discoveries and the collectors’ reactions to his appraisals all the time. It’s also these exciting appraisals that garner some pretty great prices. So, it was a good sign that Weiss was thrilled when he saw Padlo’s painting.
