You’ll Never Guess The Origin Of Some Of The Most Common Used Inventions

Belgium – Cricket

For a long time, Cricket was considered an English invention; however, later, the findings proved that Belgians introduced the sport. In 1533 John Skelton wrote a poem regarding the Flemish weavers, which uncovers the origins of the game.

As mentioned in the poem, weavers used to play the game back then with the aid of shepherds’ crooks instead of bats. The poem even suggests that the Flemish weavers can perhaps even be thought of as the kings of crickets. This theory and the surviving poetry ultimately prove that the Belgians invented the famous sport rather than English people.
