You Wouldn’t Have Guessed The Career Paths These Child Stars Chose As Adults

Peter Ostrum – Veterinarian

Peter Ostrum has only acted in a single film, but that was all he needed to have a lasting effect on the entertainment industry. When he was in the sixth grade, Ostrum was picked to play Charlie Bucket’s character on the 1971 film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.

Sadly, that was both the beginning and end of his career. As he grew up, Ostrum developed an interest in the veterinary field. Today, at age 62, Ostrum has a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University and serves as a veterinarian at the Countryside Veterinary Clinic. He is also a managing partner of Dairy Health & Management Services.
