Florida native Shay Ryan seemed destined for success as a reporter given her choice of qualifications. After getting a degree in Telecommunication from the University of Florida, she got one in Geoscience from Mississippi State University too!
Ryan’s broadcasting skills quickly became apparent as her career took off. She made a name for herself by providing in-depth coverage of major storms and hurricanes. Her fieldwork during Hurricane Floyd remains particularly noteworthy; she stayed for 36 hours under emergency shelter just to cover the event. In 2022 she continued serving as the resident meteorologist on ”WFTS-TV.”
