Vintage Subway Photos That Will Make You Feel The Rush Of Living In A Different Era

A Little Tune for the Faint-Hearted, NYC – 1980

Riding the subway meant meeting and seeing different kinds of people. Below the Big Apple’s bustling streets was a fluorescent-lit, scribble-filled nook where almost all people from all walks of life met. That includes the exhausted man who had fallen asleep on the subway and this old lady, who wanted to relieve passengers’ worries by playing her worn-out accordion.

While playing loud music on your phone at a subway is regarded as rude nowadays, passengers had to endure the auditory horror of boomboxes and instruments many decades ago. Aren’t you thankful you didn’t get to live through that?
