Unflattering And Intense Nature Photos Guaranteed To Give You The Chills

A Whale’s Throwback Thursday Photo

The same injured whale pictured in the ’80s off the coast of Mexico was found to be alive and well more than three decades later. Whales are not only the biggest aquatic animals but also have the most extended lifespan among mammals. Some species can live for decades, with variations in lifespan among species.

For example, Minke whales, the smallest species of whales, have a lifespan of up to 50 years. Gray whales, if left undisturbed in their Arctic habitat, can live up to 70 years, while bowhead whales can live up to a remarkable 200 years. And the whale pictured here has survived even with half a tail.
