Make Way for a Rampaging Rhino
It is an understatement to say that being on the receiving end of a rhino charge would be terrifying. Rhinos are massive animals, capable of crushing and destroying anything in their path. They are rarely aggressive but become so when they sense any danger. The females are also very protective of their calves and are usually battle ready.
That was evident to photographer Theo Allofs, who had a firsthand experience being chased by one of these horned beasts. Although they have poor eyesight, rhinos compensate with their strong sense of smell and hearing. Unfortunately, the rhino population has declined drastically, mostly because of poaching.
