Unbelievable Images Caught By Google Street View Camera

Is This How It Got Named?
The photo was taken by a Google Street View vehicle in Arizona at a freeway aptly named Black Canyon. Some places are named too literally, and this is just one of the examples. The name is clearly etched into the black roads, and the writing is so clear that it would be visible from aerial view.
Or maybe the name sounds too fitting because the photo was taken at night? What we do not understand is the Canyon part! For a straight and plain road, why name it after something that represents the opposite?
